When we speak of “healthy men,” it’s important to recognize that men are tremendously diverse in terms of race, socioeconomic status, marital and parent status, and gender identity—with each man and boy having unique health challenges.

Healthy Men Inc., is committed to serving the broad spectrum of boys, men and those who identify as male in our society. We are also committed to creating, growing and governing our non-profit organization in an effective way with best-in-class policies, procedures and practices.

OUR MISSION

Enhance the wellness and health of boys and men through public communication, awareness, education, outreach, advocacy, and public policy. We will accomplish this by engaging and partnering with expert individuals and organizations to provide resources, support, training, programs, and expertise that emphasizes that wellness and comprehensive health self-management are core components of masculinity.

Foster an environment of health equity, in which boys and men have the tools, resources, and support they need to take ownership of all aspects of their wellness and health in a way that optimizes the length and quality of their lives and enables them to be effective and productive members of their family and community.

Content

Develop and deliver consumer-facing educational content (written and digital) to educate men and boys about important heath issues–mental and physical–including specific health conditions, treatments, and vaccines, and fatherhood.

Policy

Support and advocate for policies, comprehensive wellness, healthcare, and access to related services that that support health equity for all males and enhance the wellness and healthcare needs of all in a manner that is respectful and mindful of genders, lifestyles, and personal preferences.

Consult

Provide consulting services to healthcare and related organizations that wish to engage with boys and men on how to develop and promote health and wellness services, products, and programs that are relevant to–and resonate with–the unique preferences and needs of boys and men and their families.

Resources

Serve as a resource for patient-focused and healthcare-professional-focused groups to help them optimize their outreach to boys and men. This includes resources, workshops, and other educational opportunities to help providers recognize and address men’s and boys’ unique health preferences and needs so they can better engage with and serve their patients

Educate

Educate the public and policymakers—via blogs, op-eds, speaking engagements, media appearances, webinars, and social media—about boys and men’s unique health preferences and needs.

Messaging

Design and disseminate public-awareness messaging designed to educate men, women, service providers, legislators, and others about existing health disparities and the importance of supporting men, boys, and fathers

Public Awareness

Increase public awareness of the many ways that men’s and boys’ physical and mental health concerns also affect women, children, the economy, and society as a whole—and the substantial costs we all bear when male health issues are ignored.

Reviews

Review products, services, workplaces, marketing and advertising, and anything else aimed at the male market.

Jean Bonhomme, MD, MPH

Co-Founder and Chief Medical Advisor

Dr. Jean Bonhomme is an expert on men’s health, minority health, and the impact of poor men’s health on families. He is the founder of the National Black Men’s Health Network and member of the Board of Directors as well as a former member of Men’s Health Network Board of Directors.

From 2003 to the present, he has served as corporate president and chairman of the Steering Committee for CHAMPS (Community Health and Men’s Promotion Summit), providing free health screenings to economically disadvantaged minority males.

Armin Brott

Co-Founder, President, and Chief Communications Officer

Armin Brott is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of men, boys, and those who care about them. He’s a nationally recognized authority on men’s health; author of Blueprint for Men’s Health, Your Head: An Owner’s Manual, and other books on the topic; co-founder of Healthy Men Inc.; host of the nationally syndicated “Positive Parenting” radio show and podcasts; and creator of the nationally syndicated “Healthy Men” column.

Dr. Salvatore (Sal) J. Giorgianni, Jr., PharmD

Co-founder, Vice President, and Chief Alliances and Development Officer

Dr. Giorgianni is a men’s health advocate, activist, and leading voice for the health and welfare of boys, men, and their families. He comes to this work with professional experience in health care delivery and services, academia, pharmaceutical industry, and public policy. He has held faculty appointments at both Columbia University in New York city and at Belmont University in Nashville, TN.
